Anglo American Research Laboratory Tour

Venue: Anglo American's Research Laboratory, Crown Mines, Johannesburg

Date and Times: Monday, 1 September: 11:30 to 16:00

Description of Tour:

A detailed tour will be provided of Anglo American's Research Laboratories with specific emphasis on the facilities available in the Minerals and Process Research Department.
The tour will include an opportunity to view the department's world class MLA, FEG-MLA, QEMSCAN, XRM (X-Ray Micro-tomography), XRD, Tof-SIMS and XPS instrumentation. The sample preparation laboratory will also be visited to view autopotting and various other automated sample preparation technologies:

12:30-13:00 Arrival at Anglo American's Research Laboratory
Welcome and a light lunch will be served

13:00-15:00 Tour of laboratory

15:00-15:30 Tea and biscuits and an opportunity to ask questions with the tour guides.

Arrival at Sandton Convention Centre

Registration: Delegates for the day trip will be able to register for the Anglo Arc Laboratories Tour at the main entrance to the Sandton Convention Centre, Maude Street, Level 0 prior to departure. Each delegate will receive a name badge. Please ensure that you display your name badge at all times for security and control purposes

Parking: Parking is not included in the registration fee and needs to be settled on the day of departure. Parking tickets will be able to be purchased at the Sandton Convention Centre Management Offices (VIP North Side) on Level 1 at a cost of R 31.00 per car per day. Payments can be made by cash or credit card.

Food & Beverage: A light lunch and refreshments will be served

Special Note:

1. Participants will need a of identification (ID, Passport, Driver's Licence or Birth Certificate) –to be provided three days before the tour

2. Participants are recommended to wear steel toe capped shoes and safety glasses (general PPE). Should participants not have steel toe capped shoes- please provide shoe size three days before the tour as they will be arranged at the Lab -
